Learning Management and Course Distribution Platform (LENS)

An integrated learning and training platform that is designed for the efficient management of trainers, delivery of courses, tracking of learning, and delivering of learning materials on the desktop and online platforms.

Project Goal

LENS’s (LearningCert Education Navigation System) goal is to provide a full digital learning environment whereby an organisation can use one platform to manage trainers, courses and learning documentation as well as how trainees will engage with those courses. The overall system must be able to be used in both web and desktop based environments while also ensuring an easy user experience for learners and a robust set of administration tools for training managers.

The Problem

A lot of organizations even now conduct their training through spreadsheets, emails, shared drives, and other non-integrated methods, making it hard to allocate courses, monitor trainer performance, keep track of the training materials, and track learner progress.

There is the issue of version control for administrators when updating the training material, and the learners’ inability to access the updated materials and courses poses another problem as the number of learners grows.

The App Idea

Vision for LENS Learning Management Ecosystem. This platform was designed as a fully integrated learning management system that would link together the administrator, trainer, and learner via one platform.

Administrators would have the ability to manage their trainers, courses, learning resources, and promotional content from one central place. Trainers would get assigned their courses and gain access to educational content, while learners could search for courses, presentations, download resources, give feedback, and keep track of their learning progress in their notes.

Client’s Expectations

The client needed a flexible learning management system that was easy to use and scalable, meaning it could accommodate increased demands for training without complicating administration.

It was essential for the client that the system offer course management, trainer allocation procedures, version control of course material, and a user-friendly interface for administrators and end-users alike. The importance of stability, good performance, and ease of implementation should be noted here since users will come from diverse backgrounds technologically.

Finally, it had to be possible to deliver courses using both Windows and web-based interfaces.

TekScrum’s Solution

TekScrum developed LENS as a total training management system incorporating a web app, Windows PC app, and iOS training experience.

The administration dashboard enables full control of trainers, courses, course content, activity, and platform content management. Admins will be able to develop courses, allocate trainers, upload presentations and supporting content, manage both active and inactive courses, and keep track of platform activity.

The learners will benefit from a well-designed portal for accessing course material that includes the ability to review presentations, download content, give feedback, and create notes for personal use.

Additionally, other functions in the application include the management of trainers, the management of the course life cycle, the ability to track different versions of the content, and searching capability.

The Result

LENS made the management, distribution, and use of learning content more efficient in several ways. For starters, administrators now have a centralized solution for the management of both trainers and courses, thus minimizing administrative tasks and costs. Trainers find their work made simpler by the easy management of course delivery and the access to learning content, while learners benefit from the same learning experience on both computers and the web.

Ultimately, LENS creates a scalable solution for digital learning environments and learning management.
