Kompass Pakistan ERP Integration

Project Goal
The primary aim was to streamline the intricate manufacturing lifecycle of Kompass Pakistan, including extrusion, printing, and lamination, with a unified SAP HANA ERP system. This was to be achieved by integrating disparate data sources to provide a single source of truth for production, inventory, and financial reporting across the entire industrial facility.
The Problem
As a leader in flexible packaging, Kompass dealt with massive volumes of raw materials (resins/films) and high-speed production lines. Their existing manual data entry processes couldn’t keep up with the speed of SAP HANA’s potential. Because the shop floor and management were not properly connected, there was no clear view of the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS). Waste was often recorded incorrectly, and inventory updates were delayed.
The App Idea
An ideal Digital Integration Layer connecting the manufacturing equipment to the SAP HANA database was to be developed. At each step of the production process, from resin compounding to finished goods, a set of dedicated digital modules for tablets and personal computers would collect data and transmit it directly to the enterprise resource planning system (ERP) for instantaneous analysis.
Client’s Expectations
Kompass Pakistan required a system that matched the speed of In-Memory Computing. They needed absolute data integrity to satisfy international audit standards, a user interface simple enough for plant operators to use without slowing down production, and a robust integration that would never result in data loss during the sync with SAP HANA.
TekScrum’s Solution
TekScrum built a custom MES-to-ERP integration for SAP HANA. The system allows shop floor operators to record batch details, track material usage, and log machine downtime directly from the production floor. This information is processed by our integration middleware and synced, in real-time, to SAP Financial and Logistics modules. We leveraged speed processing of SAP HANA to stream live dashboards for Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) reports.
The Result
After the integration of Kompass Pakistan with SAP HANA, the business became a fully Data-Driven Smart Factory. The business experienced significant reductions in inventory discrepancies, and production scheduling improved beyond expectations. A complete picture of their operations was obtained by the decision-makers. They are now able to respond to shifts in demand and material costs with lightning precision.
